HEALING PHILOSOPHY
Any relationship can be challenging. What I like to call “the
Principle of Charity” requires that we look for the best, rather
than the worst, possible interpretation of someone’s words or actions.
This is just one of many core principles needed to produce healthy
relationships. Life presents unique circumstances and dilemmas. I offer
a tailored approach, working collaboratively with client’s individual
needs to provide transformational tools and hope.
BIOGRAPHICAL
Aimee Short is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Play Therapist at
True Difference. More than 20 years ago, she began working with a
diverse set of problems that includes: helping women in domestic
violence and family reunification shelters, Headstart Education, and
meeting with children as a school counselor. These professional
experiences were foundational to her insight and understanding when she
opened a private practice in 2008. Aimee currently works as a family
therapist with individuals, families and children. Her specialized skill
set includes marriage counseling, play therapy, and hypnotherapy. Aimee
is also one of only a few in private practice who will make home visits,
or attend school meetings when needed.
MORE ABOUT AIMEE
Aimee is a very curious person and loves meeting people and
understanding new things. She enjoys running, shopping for bargains and
watching adventure shows with her two teenage children, husband of 25
years, and her lap dog, Buttons. Aimee and her husband, Dan, have lived
in Texas, New England, as well as Arizona, and traveled to many parts of
the world. She is passionate about education, creating healthy
environments for children, and has spent many years as a volunteer-mom
in the local schools. |
